Hollie April is the stage name of Hollie Buhagiar – a third-year BA (Hons) Music Production student at Leeds College of Music. Performing professionally for the first time at the age of 13, she’s been readying herself to enter the working world as a musician when she leaves Higher Education in a few months.
A British singer-songwriter, Hollie was born and raised in Gibraltar. As well as being a songwriter, Hollie April is a performer, a moving image composer and a producer. She has received label interest from the UK, America and Australia.
Hollie sees the versatility of life at Leeds College of Music as a big driver, being able to pursue all of her musical passions under one roof. “I chose here because I loved what the conservatoire offered,” she says. “My particular course combines composition and production, which suits my needs perfectly. Also I knew I’d be able to immerse myself in music entirely.
“My tutors are so knowledgeable and experienced, they’ve been an incredible help towards my career. The course completely broadened my perspective of the music industry and the facilities have enabled me to practice my craft on so many different levels.”
Hollie is working on several projects with some exciting names and is writing a solo EP and a library album that will be released in 2013. See Hollie behind the scenes at our website photoshoot below:
