Earlier this year Senior Lecturer Adam Martin and Head of Postgraduate Study Professor Andy West secured an exciting exchange programme for LCoM Students with the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
The exchange allowed students from both conservatoires to undertake a week-long intense programme of coaching, with different tutors, different facilities and in new environments gaining new experiences to develop their career.
In Leeds, students from the CVA joined forces with the LCoM MMus postgraduate team for the first term, taking part in lectures and master classes with UK industry professionals.
In exchange, Adam and Andy took pop band ‘Heir' to Amsterdam from the 21 - 24 March, to work alongside staff and students from the CVA. The band also did a full day’s recording session, then braved the wilds of Amsterdam and played a gig on the Wednesday night at local venue Winston’s Kingdom with some new colleagues in support.
Adam and Andy got involved in the exchange system too, and taught students from the CVA whilst there – Adam did one-to-one composition and production sessions, and Andy took larger group sessions on songwriting.
Whilst the tutors avoided the cameras, here are some photos of the band in action!
Heir are also part of the line-up for LCoM’s stage at this year’s Sound City festival in Liverpool – Sunday 29 May, from 12noon, Cargo Stage.
