Governance

Who we are and how we work.

Our Mission

We are artistically ambitious, quality driven and industry focused. We are actively engaged in the future of music making. Our environment nurtures independence and creative risk.

Our vision

To be a leading European conservatoire.

RELATIONSHIP WITH LEEDS CITY COLLEGE

Leeds College of Music is a member of the Leeds City College Group. Leeds City College is one of the largest colleges in the country and the Conservatoire's alliance with it offers many mutual benefits in terms of the services that we can offer.

Leeds College of Music is a limited company and a charity, with its own Principal and Managing Director, board of directors, and senior management team. The LCoM Board reports regularly to the Leeds City College Governing Body on the Conservatoire's operation. Academic matters are overseen by a joint Academic Board, on which LCoM's Academic Council is represented.

RELATIONSHIP WITH UNIVERSITY OF HULL

Leeds College of Music's degree courses are validated by the University of Hull, and the conservatoire works closely with the University to provide enhanced opportunities to both institutions' postgraduate student programmes.

Forward-thinking, modern and student-oriented – and with a firm commitment to celebrating diversity – the University of Hull's ethos is well-matched with the conservatoire's own.
